Making Art Accessible

October is Accessibility Awareness Month in the District.  This month we will be featuring artists & art organizations that work with those with disabilities, or Outsider Art.

noun

art created by those who are isolated from the mainstream due to mental, emotional or physical disabilities.

Look here for features each week in October about the ways the District makes art accessible for those with disabilities. There are many organizations and programs working to make art more available for those who would otherwise not have the chance to experience or create art. This blog will be highlighting various ways to make art accessible to everyone.

Also check your inbox for the October Art Newsletter, due out next week. This month features Art Enables, an outsider art group located in the heart of the District.
