Support New Community for Children’s Public Art!

Mayor Fenty lends a hand for New Community for Children at Windows into DC, and you should too!

New Community for Children is a finalist for a Tom’s of Maine grant to install more public art  in DC’s Shaw/U Street community!  The DC youth group is seeking support for a public art installation  featuring photos taken by the students in the neighborhood. These photos would tell the story of the community through the eyes of its young people. New Community recently contributed to the DC Creates! Public Art project, Windows into DC.

How can you help? Tom’s of Maine will award funds based on the number of votes cast on the their website.  The voting process closes on Friday, October 30th, but you may vote every day for up to five projects each day between now and the 30th.

Established in 1988, NCFC is a nonprofit organization that provides children with learning experiences that build academic, social, and creative skills. NCFC has grown from an afterschool program for 40 children to serving over 300 children from two elementary schools as well as a program for adolescents and teens.

Please support New Community in their efforts to produce more art in DC!
