Who’s Who of Art Salon: Spotlight on Sami Miranda

November Art Salon is tomorrow at Longview Gallery! Between now and then, get to know a few of the artists performing.

Multifaceted artist Sami Miranda brings tradition and experience to this month’s Art Salon. Not only is he a poet, he is also a visual artist, teacher, and leading DCCAH’s Arts Education Department as its manager. A true delight to be around, Sami aims to connect his surroundings with his family’s history through his own perspective and work. He is a founding member of Tres Raices Arts Collective and is always on the move, whether it be visiting District schools, reading his poetry, or working in his studio. Get to know Sami, as many of us here have, and experience his unique take on the world: what has changed, what remains the same, and what we still need to learn.

Don’t miss November’s Art Salon, Poetry in Motion. Join us for a night of performance poetry and a sample of MGFest ‘09 at one of DC’s newest spaces.

Location: Longview Gallery, 1234 9th Street, NW

Date: Wednesday, November 18

Time: 7:00-9:00 pm
