Opening Friday, August 6: Community of Fire

The Wood Fired Potters Group will feature an educational pottery exhibit at the Foundry Gallery in Dupont Circle from August 4th through August 29th.

Kevin Crowe, world renowned wood fired potter and kiln builder, headlines this show with his strong, utilitarian pots whose surfaces are laden with melted ash licked by the flames of his ancient-style anagama kiln.
Also exhibiting are members of his firing crew, including Joy Bridy, Eileen Egan, Bradley McLemore, Michael Pappas and Laura Toscano.

The opening on August 6th is a part of the “First Friday” event at Dupont Circle Galleries.

Learn more about the wood firing process and the community of fire that is created by stoking a kiln together round the clock for a week, and witness how a strong community can influence the artistic process.
