Re:FormSchool—A Redu Project

RE:FORM SCHOOL is a group art exhibition and event series, bringing together hundreds of artists in New York City to send a loud message that the time has come to fix our ailing Public Education System.

RE:FORM SCHOOL will serve as a touchstone event – a convergence of altruistic intention, artistic expression, community engagement, popular culture and political momentum.

Artists participating in RE:FORM SCHOOL include: Shepard Fairey, Swoon, Chris Johanson, Jo Jackson,  Maya Hayuk, Gary Baseman, Friends With You, HunterGatherer, iO Tillett Wright, Andrew Bannecker and over a hundred more.

Submissions will be reviewed by a blue-ribbon panel of judges from the arts and education fields, including Russell Simmons (Def Jam Records), Shepard Fairey (Artist), Rosario Dawson (actress), Anelle Miller (Dir., Society of Illustrators), Davis Guggenheim (Director, “Waiting for Superman”), Wendy Kopp (Founder, Teach for America), Robert Lynch (CEO & President, Americans for the Arts) and Brett Littman (Exec. Dir., The Drawing Center).

5 Grand Prize winning artists will have their work hang with nationally recognized artists at the RE:FORM SCHOOL NYC Gallery space.

30 Second Prize winners will be selected to join the online exhibition.

Submissions will be accepted through September 30th, 2010.
