reCYCLE Public Art Project Old Takoma

reCYCLE: The Old Takoma Business Association (OTBA) is sponsoring an exciting new public art project for its Old Takoma’s Main Street corridor (Carroll Ave in Takoma Park, MD through Carroll St, NW in Takoma, DC). reCYCLE is a public art exhibit designed to highlight the art, bicycling and recycling cultures of Old Takoma. The OTBA is seeking local artists/creators/welders or teams (Artist) to design and build outdoor sculptures (Sculptures) using mostly bicycles and spare bicycle parts to be installed along the sidewalks to create a self-guided, walking tour with the goal of attracting and engaging visitors and showcasing Old Takoma. The Sculptures will remain in place for 4-6 months and then be auctioned off to the public.
