Personified as a woman in quest of her source, the river Godavari makes a journey, recounting stories in a rich, vibrant presentation that is rooted in Bharatanatyam, a classical South Indian dance form. The choreography departs from tradition, also including elements of folk and communal dance. The musical score is a myriad of ragas and languages, including compositions in India’s classical language, Sanskrit, and Telugu, Tamil and Marathi, which are regional.
