The orchestra has over 500 physician members from 36 countries. Its mission is to raise awareness that healthcare is a basic human right and a precondition for human development and productivity. Members meet several times a year for intensive rehearsals culminating in a benefit performance for medical aid projects. This Washington, D.C., concert is also a remembrance of 9/11, and a plea for peaceful solutions to world problems.
