Digital Capital Week (DCWEEK) 2011

DCWEEK is a festival in the US capital focused on bringing together designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and social innovators of all kinds. It’s a series of 100s of distributed events powered by the community and complemented by core conferences, parties, and projects created by the festival organizers iStrategyLabs and Tech Cocktail.

Event nights:

DCWEEK Opening Party at the 9:30 Club will feature the areas hottest local acts – with room for 1,20o.  Keep checking back because several pre-party cocktail locations will be announced October 26th.

We’ll select the bands and DJ’s for the night based on the top ones voted here.  You can cast your vote until October 24th. OVER 30,000 VOTES HAVE BEEN CAST SO FAR! Who knows, maybe your favorite local band will get picked.  Keep in mind that we sold out early last year and will do so again this year so grab a ticket in one of two ways:

As the official after party of the DCWEEK Opening Keynotes, not only will this rally aim to fill DCWEEK with excitement, but it will also serve as the final hours of Give To The Max Day: Greater Washington. GTMD: GW is a 24 hour event with the goal of raising at least $3 million dollars for area non-profits that strive to better the local community. From 9pm till 12am on 11/9/11, a final rally cry for donations will take place towards causes that will impact and benefit our own neighborhoods, our own schools and our own people.  You don’t want to be tardy for this party because two free drinks will be provided for the first 500 guests on the guest list.  Who doesn’t like free drinks?

After a full day of DCWEEK’s Core Conference, we’ll watch a dozen or so local early stage startups demo their latest innovations for us while enjoying some cocktails.  This will be an evening of fun mingling with other technology enthusiasts, investors, bloggers and entrepreneurs as we showcase these young technology companies – the last Tech Cocktail in DC for 2011!

Helping Startups Get Exposure – Tech Cocktail offers a handful of startups an opportunity to show off in an expo-style to the rest of the DC entrepreneurial community for FREE and get their startup written about on  If you have a startup you would like to show off at Tech Cocktail’s DCWEEK Startup Mixer event, submit this form. We will contact you if your startup is selected. Hurry, space is limited. has announced the launch of its first indoor/outdoor game play program. Based on the concept of the popular New York based “Come Out and Play” program, is about immersing players in a game experience that moves people beyond the digital screen, to getting out and experiencing game play in and around DC. From completely analogue to fully digital and anywhere in between, this day of play is about getting people to interact with one another, their environment and the story you tell.

This is going to be an amazing event.  You’ll be treated to interactive art intallations, performances, a photo booth and an open bar all night.  Come on, who doesn’t like an open bar?

Here are the details:  The DCWEEK Closing Party presented by Ford will take place at the Arena Stage from 8:00 PM to 1:00 AM on 11/11, with room for nearly 2,000 attendees.  This will be the place to be.
